Ask the program before you shop
Many programs have their own equipment arrangements. Confirm whether your child can borrow clubs, which items are required and what the instructor recommends. You may be able to try the game before buying a set.
Choose comfort and fit
Ask a fitter or qualified instructor to help with suitable clubs. Avoid choosing by age alone or buying an oversized set simply to grow into. Consider the bag’s weight as well as the clubs.
Keep everyday items practical
Use a water bottle, towel and weather-appropriate clothing you already own when suitable. Check the course’s footwear and dress requirements before purchasing special items. Buy balls and tees for learning, not for a professional image.
Wait on the extras
Training gadgets and premium accessories can wait until you understand a real need. Put the money toward a useful experience—or keep it in the family budget.

A simple packing decision
- Borrow first: clubs and a bag, if the program has suitable loaners.
- Bring from home: a water bottle, small towel and comfortable clothing that meets the facility’s requirements.
- Ask before buying: balls, tees, shoes and a glove. Requirements depend on the session.
- Wait: a rangefinder, premium ball subscription or swing gadget without a specific need.
