PARENT GUIDE

Finding a family round on vacation

A welcoming atmosphere and manageable length are our starting points.

A vacation round should add something good to the trip. We look for a place where a junior feels welcome and the layout gives them a reasonable chance to enjoy playing.

Ask these questions before you book

  • Do you welcome junior beginners, and are there age limits?
  • What is the shortest set of tees? Is there a nine-hole option?
  • Are there quieter times that work well for families?
  • Do parents need to play, walk along or pay a spectator fee?
  • Are junior rental clubs available in the right size and handedness?
  • What is the full price, including any required cart or rental charges?
  • What are the weather and cancellation policies?

Keep the travel plan flexible

Compare bringing clubs with renting suitable equipment. Think about arrival delays, heat, weather and everyone’s energy. Leave some room between travel and the tee time.

Read listings as a starting point

Our directory uses official provider information. We have not personally visited every listing, and a shorter course is not a guarantee of current junior policies. Call the course with your child’s experience and the date you hope to play.
